With the increase of traffic we ask for your cooperation with traffic flow for the safety of all. When entering the site please stay to the left, proceeding around the lagoons toward the building, after dropping off your recycling, proceed around the lagoons to the far side so the exit is straight in front of you. This will allow for a smooth traffic flow especially in the winter months.

Troy/Jay Recycling Expands
Troy — July 16, 2007 — The Troy/Jay Selectboard announces the expansion of the current recycling program for Troy and Jay residents. The location remains the same – at the Troy/Jay Wastewater Plant off Rt 101 in Troy. In September 2006, town residents voted to join the Northeast Kingdom Waste Management District headquartered in Lyndonville. This move brought the town into compliance with State of Vermont regulations for waste management. After several delays with permitting and location issues, this essential service to the community is now available. Previously only newspapers, glass and # 2 plastics were accepted at the site. As of June 22nd 2007 the items accepted are plastics # 1-7 , glass of all colors, plastic bags labeled #2 or 4, aluminum cans, tin cans, brown paper bags and boxboard (cardboard needs to be broken down flat), newspapers, magazines, junk mail – computer paper white and colored as well as manila folders, index cards and envelopes with and without windows, lead acid batteries, fluorescent light bulbs. Some electronic equipment will be accepted as well – fees will apply. Checks are to be made out to Town of Troy, no cash accepted! A complete detailed list is available at the Town of Troy Clerks office as well at the recycling center. All items must be sorted into the labeled bins at the site, containers must be clean and labels do not have to be removed. The hours of operation are Friday 1pm to 4pm, and Saturday 9am – 12pm. There is an attendant on site during these hours to assist with questions, users must do their own sorting at or prior to the coming to the site.
Should you have any questions please contact the Troy Selectboard at 988-2663, or the Jay Selectboard at 988-2996.
